It was silent here last month.
Here is why.
Yes, I wrote a newsletter every Friday for the last two years. Or almost every Friday. I tried to send them even when I was on vacation. Every week during the last two years, I started with the thoughts of what I will write on Friday. I still do it.
But this year I learned one more German word - Schreibblockade. Translated into English: writer’s block. Or Google Translate translates it so.
It doesn’t mean that there are no topics anymore that I’d like to write about. I just looked into my thoughts collection, and I think I have thoughts there for another two years.
Like every normal IBM Power administrator in the world, I have my daily business - helping customers to solve their problems with IBM Power environments and holding training sessions for them. It brings me most of my income, and this is my daily job that I do eight or sometimes ten hours a day.
I also give presentations sometimes at different events, and help to organize these events. It also takes a lot of time and power. No, IBM Power can’t substitute it.
Of course, I have some other obligations in my life, too.
Last time I felt like I had too much work. I couldn’t work anymore like I usually did, from early morning till midnight.
I think this is the only reason why I didn’t write so many newsletters last time.
My plan for now is very easy:
I take Easter vacations for two weeks, go with the children to Legoland and Playmobil Fun Park, and then will ski in Zermatt, Switzerland.
Skiing is one of my biggest hobbies and gives me a lot of power. Celebrating my birthday on the piste in Zermatt is always a good idea :-) If you are by chance in Zermatt at this time too, give me a call, and we will drink a beer.
I promise to return with new power and write every Friday again!
Meanwhile, you can write your wishes for future topics by simply answering to this newsletter. Or if you read it on the web or in the app, write a comment down there.
