Why not to advertise good things?

I wanted to continue writing on NIM and different AIX things. This week, I looked at the news about AIX 7.3 TL4 and tested some of the new features. But NO! I don’t write today about it. I write about a new project from my friend and excellent IBM Power expert, Hugo Blanco.

Hugo sent me a note and asked for collaboration. What could I answer him?

Meet the new Hugo’s project - LibrePower

His new project is LibrePower - unlocking IBM Power’s full potential through open source: more solutions, more users, more value.

Here is how Hugo describes the project:

LibrePower is a community initiative to expand what’s possible on IBM Power—across the entire ecosystem:

• AIX — The battle-tested Unix that powers enterprise workloads

• IBM i — The integrated system running countless businesses worldwide

• Linux on Power (ppc64le) — Ubuntu, Rocky, RHEL, SUSE, Fedora on POWER

We’re not here to replace anything. We’re here to add value:

Everyone has a story. We do something every single day, we are in our work, we implement new features, we fix old problems, and we improve the IT world. Tell your story! The Common Europe Congress is the biggest IBM Power event in Europe. It is made by IBM Power users for IBM Power users. Submit your story and let us meet in Lyon!
